Raised in western Canada,
R.W. (Bobbi) Haviland started her free-lance commercial art
career in Toronto and Montreal, then moved to Muskoka to help
start a weekly newspaper.
Since opening her
studio/gallery outside Burk's Falls, Ontario, Haviland's year
has been organized around work trips to British Columbia and
Newfoundland. Back at the studio, some of these images and
sketches done on her land, are translated into large canvases
that have found their way into countless private collections in
Canada, the United States and Europe.
Possibly the most
satisfying part of Haviland's output is the experimental
printmaking which has resulted in a number of unique series that
explore diverse subjects and mediums.
