Artistic
Statement
Stained
Glass is my medium to express divinity, creation and
that which is sacred, by whatever name you choose. As a
very young child, sitting silently in Church hearing a
language I could not speak nor understand, it was the
stained glass, casting God rays of light onto the walls
and across the floor, that spoke to me so deeply, that
now years later, I am still unraveling those whispered
mysteries. Carrying this illumination into
everything that I do, from simplest stained glass window
panels to the full expanse of changing and charging an
environment with beauty, reverence and the possibility
of transformation, it is my wish to create stained glass
beyond expectation.

Trinity
| I am
a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to
stained glass. Kiln working, as in fusing or
slumping doesn’t engage me in the way simply
working old techniques in new ways, does.
Decorative glass, in the form of bevels captured
my interest and so, working with an excellent
craftsman and master beveler, designed this
piece to feature some of his specialty bevels. |

Rooster autonomous panel
| Not
all my work has to have a religious theme,
however the glass must be of the finest quality
capturing every nuance of the image/design. I
trust my instincts and am often delighted with
where inspiration comes from. This rooster is an
exercise in the creation of beauty. |

Biography
Toronto
born, to recently arrived immigrant parents, I grew up
in two worlds: the European - old world - ancestry rich
in cultural textures and language, and as the first born
in a dynamic new, but foreign country, had to find a way
to bridge what was, with what was becoming. As a young
child, it was while attending church, resplendent with
stained glass that captivated my heart. Under my own
initiative, I took my first stained glass course while
still in high school and then spent the next 17 years
working in the medium. Like many lives, mine took a
detour in the early 1990's, however, never leaving glass
entirely, I took on the rigours of becoming a health
professional, in massage therapy. It wasn’t until I
moved to Seguin township in 2002, did my desire to
formally open my own studio resurface and become a
reality.

Pine Tree Door Lite
| Working
closely with the client, we chose elements of
tree, rock, water from their cottage property.
Replacing clear glass in an existing interior
door with this design, morning light passes
through from the other room illuminating the
door lite, while in the evening, the opalescent
glasses offer privacy and intimacy. |

Rose Memorial window
| This is the first of six
designs for a small United Church. Simply called Love, the red window.
Each other window design holds the same basic design only where the
central motif changes to support the change of color. As the six
windows circle the sanctuary, each window is a different color of the
rainbow, symbolic of the first covenant with God. |

French Dalle
| I had an opportunity
while at Chartres Cathedral, France to learn this unique glass
assembly method. I love the raw intensity of the thick dalle de
verre - less descriptively known here as slab glass. Used in
ways beyond the scope of traditional stained glass, dalles can
be used as structural elements, as in entire walls, shower
surrounds and security windows, that do not require bars.
