David Cureton is a stringed instrument maker and artist who has been making and repairing harps, guitars and other stringed instruments since 1990. A graduate of the Advanced Musical Instrument Program at Douglas College in New Westminster, where he studied with West Coast luthier, Michael Dunn, Cureton has been pushing the envelope of acoustic instrument construction since 1990, using traditional and contemporary construction techniques.

He studied Wood Product Design, Metalsmithing and Craft History at the Kootenay School of Art, Craft and Design in Nelson BC. He achieved a Design award in 2000 at the Fifth Annual Value Added Wood Conference in Golden BC.

Most recently, he has established his studios at 1110 Barkway Road, just east of Gravenhurst, where he pursues the making of stringed instruments, sculpture and any other kind of interesting project he can get his hands on.
