Whimsical sculptures from 12" to 72" high are Carola’s
specialty. Constructed from a durable solid papier-mâché pulp, they
are as durable as they are entertaining.
Carola is a self taught artist who creates paintings and
sculpture-paintings which are a 3-D style of wall art. "I have
always loved to break the rules and create new ones of my own all the
time," says Carola. "I love to experiment and began building
3-D paintings on canvas over 10 years ago." Carola also creates
folk art pieces made mostly from found items, and as she likes to say,
"anything that was standing still long enough."
Carola is also the founder and owner of the Red Canoe Gallery
(formerly Grimm Gallery), Port Carling’s oldest and largest gallery,
which features the work of over one hundred of Canada’s best
artists.
Many of Carola’s most recent works are currently on display at the Red
Canoe Gallery.
