Lin
is a fibre/mixed media artist with a home-based studio just outside of
Gravenhurst, Ontario.
A graduate of the Kootenay School of the Arts Fibre
Studio, Lin creates wearable art, vessels, rugs and framed pictures in
hand-dyed, hand-felted wool. She also has a line of one-of-a-kind, hand bound
notebooks, journals and albums which make ideal gifts for a loved one, for
oneself, or for special occasions.
She has been teaching workshops in textile
arts and book arts since 1998.
"I
love making things. There is great satisfaction in coming up with an idea,
working through the process and in the end having your efforts rewarded with
something you can see, hold in your hands and share.
"I feel honored to have
lived in some of Canada's most beautiful places - the Queen Charlotte Islands,
the Slocan Valley near Nelson, British Columbia, and now we've found a new home
in Muskoka.
"I am inspired by the incredible range of colour and texture found in
our natural surroundings. The purpose of my work is to share some of that grace,
experience and joy."
