"I’ve captured a moment, mixing together the colours and textures of
nature,
to create a passionate and unique memory of that moment, as is."

| Evident in her
work, Ingrid Saaliste’s love of nature comes from spending summers at
her Georgian Bay cottage near Honey Harbour. She can often be found in
the morning and at dusk in her kayak, capturing the glorious scenes that
she is known for. She favours landscape and travel photography, owing
her inspiration from the late Galen Rowell and Roberta Bondar’s Passionate
Vision.
The daughter of an artist,
Ingrid got an early start in art and photography from her father. Over
the years, she has complemented her learning at the New York Institute
of Photography with numerous courses in black and white, darkroom,
fashion and portrait photograph, as well as watercolour and encaustic
art.
Her spectacular scenics of
Georgian Bay have won numerous awards in juried fine art shows. Several
art galleries represent her work including the Liss gallery in Toronto,
Jasmine’s Art and Antiques in Bala, and the Right Side Gallery in
Penetanguishene which she co-owns. Her photographs hang in private and
corporate collections, and have been exhibited internationally. The
flagship Timothy’s Café at First National Place in downtown Toronto
and Amicci’s Restaurant in Honey Harbour also display her beautiful
images.
Ingrid’s images are taken
with a digital camera and printed without manipulation on special
watercolour paper using archival inks. They are then matted and framed
using preservation/ conversation techniques and are released as limited
editions. Ingrid also presents her images mounted on art cards and are
available in many stores throughout Ontario and Quebec. |
