Coming from Bavaria in Germany, where I painted traditional furniture and murals, I made my home in the beautiful town of
Port Carling, Muskoka. I joined Muskoka Arts and Crafts Incorporated and The Brown Baggers and have enjoyed their
inspiration and friendship ever since.
Working for the Village Place, a gift store owned by my friends, I painted many pieces of furniture over the years, ceramics,
glass, trays, and turntables, as well as wooden gifts designed and handmade by me.
My special love is for old pieces of furniture; they inspired me to leave traditional ideas behind and turn them into Muskoka
heirlooms with scenery, wildlife, florals, and trompe l'oeil.
To keep up my general painting skills, I took courses in watercolour and pastel along with two semesters of fine art education
with Nipissing University. I participated in various exhibitions at the Chapel Gallery, Muskoka Arts and Crafts' Spring
Members' Show, Christmas Show & Sale, and the on-going gallery at The Pines in Bracebridge.
I would be pleased to
custom paint your furniture and wall decorations. Call for an appointment to see examples of my work or for a free
consultation.
