| Penny
Varney started off as a graduate from Toronto General
Hospital in 1967. A mid-life metamorphosis resulted in
her enrolling as a full-time student at Georgian College
in Barrie, Ontario. Penny took courses such as life
drawing, ceramics, design, photography, art history, and
jewellery techniques.
Penny graduated in 1991, and now
creates custom jewellery in sterling silver, gold, and
other metals. She enjoys creating one-of-a-kind pieces
rather than reproducing the same designs.
Her studio is open for the Muskoka
Autumn Studio Tour only. Her store, Penny Varney
Jewellery Gallery and Gifts, is located on the main
street of Gravenhurst, and showcases much of Penny's
work.
