July 7- 8
Portraits with Lila Millar
Baysville Curling Club Lounge, Baysville, 10am – 4pm

The better you draw, the better your paintings will be. The essence of draftsmanship is having a well-trained eye. There will be an emphasis on drawing in a realistic style, perspective of the features, angles, and lighting.  Preliminary Sketches will be used to develop techniques of contour, shading and perspective and then the execution of the portrait in acrylic or oil paint on canvas. Each day the artist will produce a portrait painting that leads them through the basics of measuring, establishing a two-tone under painting, introducing warm and cool colors, to convey light and shadow.  This workshop will allow you to complete two head and shoulder portraits on two separate 16"x20" canvases. There will be a live model each afternoon for a cost of $15 per afternoon. Examples of the instructor's work will be available. www.Lila-Miller-Art.com
